We share sad news that Harold Woolford, head orchardist for many decades at Newstead Orchard, passed away this week.
His funeral will be at 11 am on Tuesday. His daughter Jean Darby ran the orchard shop until the end of last season, and his son John Woolford is the current head orchardist. Below is his obituary, where you can find details of his funeral and how to send messages to his family.

On Tuesday 15th April 2025, in his 100th year. Loving husband of the late Peggy McMiken. Dearly loved father of John and the late Karen, and daughters the late Margaret, Jean and David Derby. Loved Grandad of Lauren and Arie, Myles and Stella, Tim and Chelsea, and Rachel. Loved great Grandad of Ava and Charlotte. Beloved brother of the late Ray, David and Don, all at rest now.
