About Newstead Orchard
Annie Perkins from Groundwork Associates is buying into the business and managing fruit sales this season while learning orchard management from the third generation of the McMiken family.
The land and trees remain McMiken-owned, while Annie adds vegetables grown using regenerative and organic methods.
We aim to honour the history and tradition of the McMiken orchardists as we find new ways of sustaining access to local fruit for the Waikato.
