About Newstead Orchard
Newstead Orchard land and trees are owned by the third generation of McMiken family. The family's first orchard was established in 1914. When that land became The University of Waikato campus the family established Newstead Orchard in 1963.
We aim to honour the history and tradition of the McMiken orchardists as we find new ways of sustaining access to local fruit for the Waikato.
